The Houston Association of REALTORS® operates one of the most frequently visited real estate websites in the country, and we have been at the forefront of witnessing the impact escalating home values and a shortage of housing inventory has had across the state of Texas.
HAR is dedicated to addressing critical issues impacting housing in the Greater Houston area and providing education to HAR members and real estate professionals on how to best navigate these difficult times.
Down Payment Resource on HAR.com
HAR has implemented Down Payment Resource (DPR) to bring prospective homebuyers’ attention to down payment assistance programs in the wake of declining housing affordability.
– 89% of HAR listings are eligible for at least one homebuyer assistance program.
– Search by address or neighborhood to find programs that are available in a particular area on the Down Payment Assistance section of HAR.com.
– More than 2,000 homeownership programs available across the country that are funded at the local, state and national level.
– Additional incentives for veterans, active military, law enforcement, firefighters, healthcare workers and educators.
