NAR Policy Change

NAR policy requires advertising related MLS services to be “Optional” and not included in “Basic” services.

The NAR policy is intended to prevent anti-trust “tying” arrangements by allowing subscribers wanting “Basic” MLS to pay only for those services and not be required to purchase additional (“tied”) products such as those tools included in MLS Platinum.

To comply with the NAR policy HAR has “unbundled” its advertising related MLS services by creating the MLS Platinum package and making it available as an “Optional” service.

While the NAR policy is intended to address concerns over MLSs raising fees for all subscribers to include ancillary services, HAR has continually added these services without increasing MLS fees for the last 20 years.

The average MLS Basic fee across the US is $38/monthly and HAR’s is $20/monthly which includes exposure of agents and listings on HAR.com, a valuable benefit not provided by other MLSs across the country.

The estimated cost from third parties for services comparable to what is included in MLS Platinum exceeds $1,800 per year. MLS Platinum is priced at $129 per year which represents an excellent value. Learn more at www.har.com/mls
